I think I can relate to this situation since I am in a similar quandary. While deeply in love with the man I'm with, I have also become independent and self-sufficient. We got back together a few days later. Everything was fine and we pretty much went back to the way things were, and 7 months later she told her mother about us and her mother did not approve of us.
