I am in an amazing relationships and really care about my boyfriend extremely. It is not something that you have to conserve for fear that you may run out one day. It just doesn't work that way. I am not advising or suggesting that you go around loving everything and everybody, but you can't loose something that is inside you and that you have an unlimited supply of! But that argument is still not compelling enough to make you want to do it. So why do it? Because "being unreasonable" or not generous enough with your time and money is some crime? Why does your friend get to decide what you have to do with your time and money? IME, sure. Some guys aren't phased at all. For myself it takes awhile. Typically I was single and not dating for a number of months after a serious emotional attachment ended. In the case of my M, the interest hasn't returned at all but I'd say it was a good couple years after our D until I felt 'normal', whatever that is.

I'm concerned that he sporatically tells me that they talk or email one another, but I know that it's pretty regularly. As of a couple of months ago, he mentioned that she is planning on divorcing her husband of only a little over a year and that she has been unfaithful with other men where she is currently stationed. The only reason I can think she'd share something like that is to see if it might "hook" his interest and try to get him thinking about possiblity getting back together.
